Weekly Rewind
What is UPPPPPP my friends!!
First things first: I want this to be a newsletter you genuinely look forward to reading each week. It’s going to be personal—I’ll be diving into my thoughts on social media, the creator economy, and sharing insights from my life as a founder.
This newsletter is a space where I can be real, go deeper than I can on other platforms, and keep you updated on what’s happening in our world at CreatorX.
With that said, I’d love your feedback on how we can make this the most valuable newsletter in your inbox each week and how I can help you feel like part of this community!
Thanks for being here, and let’s keep the conversation going! 🔥
Founders Corner
We’re living in a time where diversifying income streams is key, especially for creators—but figuring out how to do it effectively can be confusing. Last week, I announced a collaboration with a friend’s company, Stan. As part of this collaboration, I’ll be sharing educational content each month around topics that are crucial for creators.
This month, it’s all about making money. I’ve put together a 15+ page guide packed with different ways to monetize your content and exactly how to get started.
Ready to diversify? Here’s a sneak peek at some of the key ways creators can monetize:
Services
Offering services like content creation, social media strategy, or event production can be a primary income source. Services allow you to use your skills directly to benefit other brands or individuals, creating a mutually beneficial relationship.
Pro Tip: Start with one service that aligns with your strengths and expand as you grow. Deliver consistently high-quality results to build a strong client base.
How to Get Started: Identify the pain points of your potential clients and offer a complimentary trial or service audit. This initial offering helps establish trust and showcase your expertise.
Example: A creator offering video editing services for brands looking to enhance their social media content.
Digital Products
Digital products like e-books, guides, templates, and online courses can be a powerful way to share your knowledge while generating somewhat passive income. These products help your audience solve specific problems or learn new skills, making them feel closer and more connected to your brand.
Pro Tip: Offer free resources first to build trust. As your audience sees the value, introduce premium versions to create a steady income stream.
How to Get Started: Start small by creating a basic guide on a topic your audience often asks about. Platforms like Stan can help you distribute and sell your digital downloads.
Example: A nutrition coach offers meal prep guides and personalized nutrition plans that clients can purchase and implement in their daily routines.

What’s Hot?
JT’s Takeaway: We're starting to see Hollywood embracing macro and micro creators of all sorts. When you think about it, the way that we hear about anything now is through social media rather than a commercial or a billboard, it usually reaches us much quicker from the people that we follow on socials. Because of that, I think Hollywood is starting to realize when they have new releases that are coming out, they might as well give those release dates to creators to hype them up and share them with their audience. I am sure a ton of those creators are getting paid to endorse these premieres and launches, or at the very least getting invited to exclusive events in exchange for attention and awareness.
JT’s Takeaway: A few friends of mine started a company called Creator Camp, where they bring content creators together in-real-life for different experiential events. They are currently taking over an actual Swiss village (yes, really) and I just think it's a really awesome thing that they are doing bringing people together in person. From my experience at Sony's camera camp this summer, the IRL experience is just really hard to replicate with anything online.
JT’s Takeaway: I liked this video about how connecting with your audience is the same as making a friend in real life and by trying to become very close in relationship with your audience you give yourself the best chance at success.
JT’s Takeaway: The new iPhone 16 is here and for content creator’s the one thing that you might have an interest in is a bigger sensor so your photos and videos will be shot with a higher quality. Other camera updates include a new side button for quick access to your camera along with shooting tools like exposure and zoom. I have the iPhone 15 Pro Max and probably won't upgrade mine right away, but if you haven't upgraded your phone in a little bit and are looking to film videos on your iPhone, it might be time for you to upgrade.
JT’s Takeaway: Longer videos have become popular over the past few months, and I’ve felt compelled to create 30+ minute videos recently. Like all trends, I think this will have its moment, reach mass appeal, and then taper off as creators find a style that truly fits them. Creating 30+ minute videos without 30+ minutes of substance isn’t a great strategy compared to delivering 12 minutes of valuable content your audience actually wants. The real win comes from testing, learning, and implementing a strategy that works for your own subscribers!
