Extra Value | 7 Apps I Use Everyday To Run My Service Business

PLUS: Lionsgate & Runway’s AI partnership, Nutter Butter’s unhinged marketing strategy, Youtube’s “Hype” feature

I'm finally at a point where I'm filming consistently in my office studio, and that’s been a big win for me. If you notice some changes or a new look in some of my recent content, let me know what you think! I give a little sneak peek of the new office in this week’s YouTube video, but I’ll be doing a full studio tour soon for anyone working from home or looking to upgrade their Zoom/filming setup!

Founder’s Corner

I get asked all the time about what tools I use to stay organized and keep things running smoothly. I use these apps both for my day-to-day and my business. I wanted to give you guys a quick rundown of why I love each one and how they make my life easier. Check it out! ⚡️

Notion 🗒️

This is a business essential for Creator X. All my notes, projects, and content ideas are stored here, allowing my team and me to collaborate seamlessly. Here’s my latest Notion tutorial that you might find helpful.

  • All-in-One Workspace: I can track everything from progress on projects to random ideas I jot down.

  • Customizable Templates: With tons of templates available, I can easily tailor them to match my workflow, making everything more efficient.

  • Visual Appeal: If you’re like me, you want things to look clean while staying functional.

CapCut 🎬️

When it comes to editing videos, CapCut is my go-to. I use it across all platforms—from YouTube to Instagram.

  • Ease of Use: It’s super simple for beginners but can still handle professional-level edits.

  • Features: I love the effects, transitions, and text overlays that make my videos stand out.

  • Cross-Platform: Whether I’m posting on IG or YouTube, this app makes it easy to edit for each platform.

Superhuman 📩

Superhuman has totally transformed the way I handle emails. It’s fast, efficient, and it makes managing my inbox feel way less overwhelming. Sorting, scheduling and responding to emails through this app has made a huge difference in how I stay on top of things every day.

  • Social Integration: Knowing more about who’s emailing me through their social profiles is a game-changer.

  • Advanced Features: Set reminders, undo sends, and better organization.

Google Calendar 📆

This app is how my life stays organized! It’s where all my meetings and team check-ins live, keeping everything on track.

  • Structured Planning: It’s how I stay on top of my week, color-coding everything so nothing slips through the cracks.

  • Google Meet: Scheduling and jumping into video calls directly from my calendar.

  • Efficiency Boost: It keeps the entire team on the same page and ensures we’re all aligned.

Canva 🎨

Whenever I need to create a design for social posts or email campaigns, Canva is my go-to. It’s super easy to use and saves me so much time. Plus, with all the ready-made templates, I can quickly tweak things to fit my brand and style without any hassle.

  • Versatile Templates: It’s perfect for beginners, and features a wide range of ready-made templates that are easy to drag and drop.

  • Brand Consistency: I use this to create and maintain my branding kit, ensuring that fonts, colors, and logos stay consistent across all my content.

Loom 🖥️

Loom has honestly replaced so many of my meetings. Recording quick videos instead of having live meetings has been a huge time-saver. I can explain my ideas and thoughts in a short video while screen sharing and this helps save time for my clients as well.

  • Screen Recording: Great for showing the team what I’m working on without hopping on a call.

  • Easy Communication: People can watch whenever it’s convenient at their own pace (you can choose a speed to view). I’ve noticed this is especially helpful across time zones.

QuickBooks 💸

This is the foundation of how we stay on top of our finances.

  • Financial Management: It keeps track of all our income and expenses in one place.

  • Invoicing Made Easy: Sending and tracking invoices is so simple.

  • Real-Time Updates: I always know exactly where we stand financially thanks to up-to-date reports.

I just dropped a new YouTube video where I walk through my day and show how I’m using some of these apps to run my business. If you're curious about how they fit into my workflow, give it a watch!

What’s Hot?

  • JT’s Takeaway: Runway and Lionsgate partner to make an AI Video model for the company. This is really interesting to me because it’s going to allow for a ton of content to be created using the existing IP that Lionsgate has.

  • JT’s Takeaway: YouTube has some new features coming to its platform, like an update to the community tab and a feature called “hype” which is a way for audience members to boost a video for a creator.

  • Creators can submit high-quality hotel videos and earn a 5% commission on bookings made through their videos

  • Chipotle's Quesadilla Day promo has TikTok creators sharing their favorite orders to help the brand find the next big food influencer

  • The video format helps LinkedIn future-proof the platform, particularly given the fact that Gen Z is LinkedIn's fastest-growing audience

  • Mr.Beast, Logan Paul, and KSI are promoting Lunchly to capture a significant share of the school cafeteria market, targeting a young audience and aiming to make it a popular trend among students

  • The updated Camera app has improved controls that simplify video creation, making it easier to shoot professional-quality content on the go
