PLUS: The AMP squad just dropped their new skincare line and Nike shifts their brand strategy.

What’s Hot?

  • Dropped another video on my Youtube, would love for you to check it out! 😎😁

  • A short but super insightful podcast with Sean Branagan, talking about where creators are headed next. Great conversation about storytelling, entrepreneurship and AI. For sure worth a listen!

  • Instagram 🤝 Partnership Ads, letting brands turn creators’ posts into paid ads. This means your stuff can reach way beyond your regular followers, giving you way more exposure and helping you grow faster.

  • Crazy to see streamers branching out into skincare. What do you guys think about creators getting into the beauty game?

  • VC firm, Slow Ventures is raising 60 million dollars to invest in creators! Currently focussing on niched down creators with some form of traction and audience… but more importantly they’re picking Youtube Creators!

  • Meta’s trying to make Facebook cool again by getting big creators like MrBeast and Mark Rober on board. They’re even throwing out “New Year’s Bonuses” – like $15K just for posting on Facebook!

  • When starting off in content creation, try to prioritize quantity over quality. Train the muscle of posting and recording everyday rather than polishing and make your videos perfect! Over time the reps add up and you’ll automatically see yourself creating quality vids!

Founder’s Corner

I’m going to share how the best brands are going to do social media this year, and I want you to share this with your team so you can crush it too! 🙌

The Old Way: Brand is a Channel

In the past, brands relied on one main account/channel either on TikTok or Instagram, aiming to grow a massive following. But that doesn’t work anymore.

Here’s why:

  1. Followers Don’t Mean Views: 📉 Just because someone follows you doesn’t mean they’re seeing your stuff. Every video has to appeal the right person because the algorithm is so specific. If you’re trying to speak to everyone, you’re speaking to no one.

  2. Anyone Can Go Viral: 🔐 You don’t need a ton of followers to have a video blow up. You can start an account today and pop off tomorrow. It’s all about making the right content and it appealing to a specific demo.

The New Way: Brand is a Network

The most successful brands won’t just rely on one account anymore, they’ll have five, six, or even more. They’re building networks with a bunch of different accounts, each one speaking to a different crowd. 🤝

Here’s how:

  • Niche Accounts: Separate accounts for different content types or audiences. This keeps things relevant and engaging. 😎

  • Unique Series & Shows: Experiment with different content formats – skits, behind-the-scenes, man-on-the-street interviews, or even a podcast. 🎬️

  • Influencer Collaborations: Bring in influencers who align with each series to build credibility and reach. ⭐️ ⭐️

Who’s Doing This Right?

Take a look at companies like ClickUp, or traditional networks like ESPN. They’re killing it by diversifying their online presence:

ClickUp isn’t just a project management tool – they’ve built multiple accounts, including a comedy account with office-style skits and even fake influencer personas.

ESPN has separate channels for different sports, fan bases, and content styles. They get that not all sports fans want the same thing.

Your brand should think like a media company. That means you need to be hiring like a media company.

Get together with your team to figure out what your audience actually wants to watch, then launch those separate accounts to target those groups with tailored content. Build communities on these accounts and cleverly link them back to your brand to keep everything connected. 😎 😄
