The relationships you build are what helps opens doors and brings you new opportunities! your ability to make friends and being able to connect to others, will take you further than any degree, resume or job title. The people you know, but more importantly, the people who know YOU—differentiates you from your competition. 👊🏽

So let me share some things that can help you network more. Staying connected isn’t about spamming or forcing conversations, It’s about building real relationships and letting opportunities unfold over time.

1️⃣ Stay in Touch, Even When You Don’t Need Anything

If you’re only hitting people up when you need something, you’re doing it wrong. The best connections are built before you ever have to ask.
A simple “Hey, been a minute! Hope you’re doing well. Would love to hear what you’ve been up to” can be the start of something. It doesn’t have to be deep, you just have to be curious. 🤔
You don’t have to be glued to your phone, either. Even a quarterly or annual check-in keeps it less spammy.

2️⃣ Relationships Compound Over Time

You’re not networking just for today; you’re planting seeds 🌱. Someone you know today might not do anything right now. But give it time. People move up, they can start companies or get access to new opportunities.
Some of the biggest opportunities I’ve had, came from people I met 3-4 years ago. You never know when someone will hit you up with an offer, or the perfect opportunity! ⭐️

3️⃣ Don’t Overthink It, Just Reach Out

I know what some of you are thinking. “But what if it’s been too long? Won’t it be weird?”
No. The goal isn’t to force conversations, It’s just to stay on the radar.
A quick text, email, or DM is all it takes. No need for some elaborate message. Or, If you see someone doing something cool on LinkedIn, shoot them a quick “Congrats!”

Take 5 minutes today and find someone you’ve been wanting to get in touch with and Shoot them a quick message. Just say what’s up and tell them how you like what they’re doing or building! 😎
