Extra Value | Time Blocking Changed My Life, Here’s How I Own My Day

PLUS: My Bach party recap, ClickUp’s HR marketing strategy and how Netflix can pay you for your ideas

This week was my joint bachelor and bachelorette party. We did it in Austin, TX and it was a ton of fun. We both brought our wedding party and there was 20 people total. We decided to do that because we wanted everyone to get to know each other before the actual wedding! We had the best time, surrounded by the people we love. Most of the days were spent either on the lake or in the backyard, it reminded me of why I love Texas so much! For those that don’t know, I currently live in LA, but am thinking about potentially relocating to ATX after my family moved there last year. We will see! 😊

Founder’s Corner

Too often, we let our schedules dictate what we can do, squeezing in what matters around everything else. But what if you flipped the script, and started designing your day around your priorities? That’s where this method comes in:

✨ Time Blocking ✨

It’s simple but super effective. This isn’t just about staying on top of things… it’s about taking control of your schedule and making time work for you. Here’s how you do it:

Create Your "Weekly Outline"

  • Start by opening up Google Calendar (or whatever app you use) and create a new calendar.

  • Call it your "Weekly Outline"—this is where your dream week lives.

Dream Big and Block It Out

  • Map out your ideal day from morning to night. Seriously, think of everything—workouts, meetings, hangouts, meals, and chill time.

  • Block time for each one like you’re designing your perfect day.

Overlay Your Outline with Your Actual Calendar

  • Once you’ve got your dream schedule set up, layer it with your real calendar.

  • Adjust where you need to, but try to keep it close to your ideal routine.

Stick to Your Blocks

  • Now, here’s the key: BE STRICT. When it’s time for a meeting, dive into it. When it’s time to chill, actually chill to the fullest!

  • Consistency is where the magic happens ✨ that’s how you build momentum!

Feel the Difference

  • Trust me, you’re going to feel way more productive, energized, and ready to crush whatever comes your way.

  • With your schedule locked down, you’ll have the space to say yes to what matters.

What’s Hot?

  • JT’s Takeaway: In one of the rare cases where a "man on the street" interview is actually unique, ClickUp has people from their HR team going around offering free HR support. I think it's a unique angle, someone you don't typically see or hear from is out there on the street talking about it.

  • Streaming platforms are putting up a real fight against traditional television.

  • The future is here, and Mark Zuckerberg is leading the way with the release of the new Orion AR glasses.

  • Netflix just scooped up YouTube’s viral sensation, The Amazing Digital Circus, keeping the animated fun rolling across both platforms. This move from YouTube to Netflix is a win-win.

  • Snapchat is going back to basics as they test a simpler app that brings back the classic snapping experience!

  •  Google has started classifying content creators as experts in search results across dozens of niches!

  • As people use social media less to feel better, movie attendance rises, boosting consumer mood and making cinema ads more effective.
