Extra Value | Why Relationships Are The Core of Business Success
PLUS: Jake Paul is opening 25 sports bars, #booktok gets it’s own publishing company and why you should start making carousels on IG!
Founder’s Corner
Business isn’t just about numbers or strategies. At the end of the day, it’s a game we play with ourselves, built entirely on the relationships we form. And if you’re serious about taking your business to the next level, I’ve got some thoughts on how mastering relationships—starting with the one you have with yourself—can transform everything you do.
It’s You vs. You
The better you understand and manage yourself, the better you’ll show up for others, and that’s a huge factor in your business. Trust me, I’ve learned that if you’re not solid internally, everything outside gets very confusing.
Ask yourself: Am I investing in my own development—mentally, emotionally, and physically?”
Take some time to reflect on this
Your Relationships With People Drives Your Success
Once you’ve locked in that self-awareness, the next big piece is how you connect with others. Business is built on relationships. Always remember:
People do business with people… not companies!
Focus on giving value without expecting anything in return, as this is the foundation of building strong relationships. When you help others, trust gets built, and with trust comes opportunity. 💐
Helping Others is the Foundation of Business.
Business isn’t just about selling; it’s about solving problems, and the best businesses are the ones that are laser-focused on helping people overcome challenges. Effective problem-solving leads to higher customer/ client satisfaction which inevitably drives your business growth!
Constantly evaluate how your business is solving problems. Is there room for improvement?
Regularly ask your clients: “What can I do to make your life easier?”
Look for feedback. The more you know about how your solutions impact others, the better equipped you are to refine and grow.

JT’s Takeaway: If you have ever scrolled on TikTok and came across #booktok, you would know that the platform is responsible for an insane rise in Gen-Z and millennial consumers purchasing and reading physical books. As the platform has taken notice of that - initially doing a partnership section within Barnes & Noble stores called #booktok - they're now expanding by becoming a physical publishing company, which can follow on the rise authors that create on their platform and then help them product physical products in their world
JT’s Takeaway: Carousels are being shown in the reels tab now, which just means there’s an opportunity for some underpriced attention there. If you haven’t tried creating some carousels I would consider it!
JT’s Takeaway: TikTok Symphony is a creative tool that brands should spend a few minutes playing around with. When I spoke a few months back on a panel with a TikTok executive, the whole chat was about symphony and how they really want to empower companies and creatives with tips to help them create better. Check it out when you get a chance!
